João Rodrigues

João Rodrigues is a cinematographer and director, photojournalist, and marine biologist.
Working between the cold waters of the North and tropical reefs, he develops a visual language where science and emotion intersect. His work combines scientific rigor with a cinematic approach, seeking to reveal the unseen and give shape to the hidden stories of the ocean.

He has contributed to international productions such as Blue Planet II (BBC) and is the founder and head of Chimera Visuals, where he directs films that explore the relationship between humans and the natural world. His work has received international recognition, including first place at the Wildlife Photographer of the Year.

More than documenting, he aims to create images that bring people closer to the ocean and inspire its protection.
