Moçoilas

As Moçoilas bring everyday life – particularly that of women – to life through rhythm, words and a powerful cry. Thirty-two years of songs, of rewound cassette tapes, of a musical and emotional project cherished by so many. Songs from times gone by, learnt in the mountainous regions and the Barrocal, and brought into the present. A project that gives a genuine voice to the sounds originating from this inland region in the south, continuing the work of collecting folk songs that lies at the heart of this group, now comprising Inês Rosa, Margarida Guerreiro and Teresa Silva. We rehearse life at every moment, embracing the uncertainty of the times in our arms. The future is every day, when before it seemed so far away. Life is a gentle breeze. Let’s sing and dance, for in the end, everything works out.
