Ricardo Cruzes

Ricardo Cruzes (1974, Portugal) pursues a multidisciplinary artistic practice. A graduate of ARCA (Coimbra) and ETIC (Lisbon), he began his career in the digital sphere, setting up companies and developing acclaimed projects, including the website for the National Museum of Archaeology, which received recognition from UNESCO. In 2022, he began to devote himself exclusively to art. His work inhabits the friction between the sublime and the grotesque, exploring themes such as mental health, social masks and violence in its many dimensions. He constructs narratives where morality proves unstable and human relationships are laid bare in all their complexity. He is an artist-in-residence and curator at LAC.
