Silva Sancho
Silva Sancho (b. 1993) is a Portuguese artist and designer who explores the boundaries between art and design with a focus on sustainability. He graduated in Product Design from the Caldas da Rainha School of Arts and Design (ESAD.CR), specialising in ceramics, glass and plastic.
His BLOWPLASTIC project, which adapts glass-blowing techniques to plant-based plastic, gained international recognition and was exhibited in 2020 at the Rossana Orlandi Gallery in Milan. In the same year, he took part in the “Copperseries” project at the “1000 Vases” exhibition in Paris. Represented by the Bessa Pereira Gallery in Lisbon since 2021, André adopts the motto “doing a lot with a little”, focusing on the reuse of materials and artisanal creation.
His work is guided by a strong socio-ecological awareness and a celebration of the human presence, creating unique pieces that highlight the singularity and identity of the spaces in which they are placed.
