FESTIVAL
Mar Motto takes place at a time when the ocean, as we know it, is in danger of changing drastically.
Species, ecosystems and resources, once taken for granted, are gradually disappearing and becoming other places, other deserts, other colours…
The festival thus emerges as a set of initiatives that address and celebrate the ocean and promote its conservation. It is presented with a practical character, around the creative areas of the arts, music, gastronomy, science, as a unifying and pedagogical hook, through a language shared by all, as a tool to positively awaken involvement, learning and discussion for a more aware and informed society.

INFORM
To publicise, debate and address different issues, realities and points of view about the ocean, the risks it faces and the solutions that can be found by us as citizens to stop these threats and speed up measures to protect it.

Presenting works of art, content, conversations and artistic pieces capable of generating a galvanising movement that amplifies a message of environmental justice and positively impacts the community.
INCONFORM
To disturb and inspire action, change and reflection. Raise awareness in favour of marine conservation and inspire a revolution in mentalities so that society takes an active role in preserving ecosystems.
BRING TOGETHER
To create and strengthen bonds transversally between people from different communities, contexts, territories and realities, through sharing, participation and appreciation.
PROMOTE
Amplify and publicise other projects, initiatives and voices that represent the ocean and promote sustainability, contributing to the creation of opportunities and the sharing of ideas.

MarMotto is born from a sense of urgency: the urgency to turn commitment into gesture, and gesture into consequence. We bring artists together not for the noise they make or the space they occupy, not for spectacle, but for responsibility.
Each work presented here is a stance taken.
We live in the age of protection, it seems that “protection” has become a fashionable word. It is protected in speech, yet destroyed in practice. Protected on paper, yet lost to the current. And so we state, plainly and without empty metaphors: #ProtectedMeansProtected… Protected means protected. It is not negotiable, not temporary, not cosmetic, not a trend…
MarMotto inhabits a duality, between beauty and collapse, between action and resignation, between what still breathes and what has been silenced.
Art here is not refuge, it is a tool. Not distraction, but friction. Not ornament, but message. Art here does not divert attention, it calls. It does not soften, it insists.
MarMotto is a territory of confrontation, but also of alliance. It is a space where art refuses to be complicit in destruction and instead chooses the side of life.
We believe that conserving is not about freezing, it is about saving, about allowing continuity.
We believe that protecting is not about promising, it is about guaranteeing.
We believe that imagining the future is useless if we are not capable of defending the present.
#ProtectedMeansProtected is not a slogan. It is urgency. It is a boundary. Without parentheses, without postponement, without excuses.
