"Monet oblectando - poetics of attention in motion" with Os Espacialistas
ARCHITECTURE

Os Espacialistas head to Faro to explore the artistic and architectural vocation of various indoor and outdoor spaces in the Old Town.
Throughout a Poetic Attention Path, we will set the city’s history, culture, and architecture in sustainable motion, through the ideas we are able to project and bring to life in an instructive and playful way. We will do so with the gestures of the body — our own and each other’s — and with thought, because for Os Espacialistas, the only thought that matters is the one that walks.
We will travel and play with what we are: each other’s departures, journeys, and arrivals, with the aim of capturing, through the photographic camera, everything that can be seen and imagined between bodies and spaces.
To teach is to play!

This participatory session explores how artistic and scientific practices can intersect to deepen our understanding of environmental issues. By bringing together artists, scientists, and cultural practitioners, this informal workshop examines how observation, perception, and interpretation shape knowledge production across disciplines.
The workshop is process-oriented and does not aim to produce a fixed outcome. Instead, it emphasizes experiential learning, collective inquiry, playful exploration, and embodied understanding. By engaging directly with environmental materials and shared reflection, participants co-create knowledge through interaction, playfulness, and dialogue.

"Between Tuvalu and Ria Formosa: imagining what happens when land disappears" com Teresa V. Vaz
UTOPIA

This workshop stems from the artistic project Tuvalu Outside Tuvalu, which evokes the first country threatened with disappearance due to rising sea levels in order to reflect on the impact of climate change and the emerging reality of climate refugees. Taking the Ria Formosa as both a nearby territory and a metaphor, participants will explore theatrical dynamics that encourage listening and empathy. Through exercises that promote slowing down and observing the territory, participants are invited to reflect on memory and vulnerability, and to imagine possible futures.
